Description
With the discovery of the Higgs Boson in 2012 and its observed mass value of 125 GeV, we finally found a theory which is internally consistent and can in principle be valid up to the Planck scale. However, several astrophysical observations as well as numerous fine-tuning aspects strongly suggest new fundamental particles beyond our current knowledge. In contrast to the previous era of particle physics research, we do not know at which energy scale these new particles become effective - and if they are in reach at the LHC at all. Precision measurements therefore offer a viable option for finding indications of new physics and also guidance for the next big discovery. In this talk, I will focus on the latest precision measurements at the LHC, with an emphasis on the recently published W boson mass.
