Description
I will present a subtraction method, which is based on the SCET factorization theorem for the N-jettiness event shape observable $T_{N}$. It allows an efficient numerical treatment of the IR singular QCD corrections to arbitrary (differential) cross sections from the emission of real radiation at NNLO. The factorized N-jettiness cross section correctly captures the universal IR behavior in the singular limit $T_{N}\to$ 0 (N collimated massless jets). It can therefore be utilized as an analytic subtraction (slicing) term, which effectively turns the problem of calculating the NNLO real corrections for a N-jet process into the problem of calculating the NLO real corrections for a N+1-jet process. The latter can then be solved using standard automated NLO tools.
