Description
Observations of the Galactic plane at very-high (TeV) energies have revealed a significant amount of sources, many of which remain unidentified. Some of these sources might contain the yet unobserved signatures of cosmic ray acceleration to PeV particle energies which would be relevant to understand the origin of the most energetic Galactic cosmic rays. In order to identify these sources and quantify the different gamma-ray components that might contribute to the observed fluxes, their detection and studies at other wavelengths are crucial. Here I report on a search for GeV counterparts of several TeV sources, most of which have not been seen at other wavelengths, and discuss the implications on their nature that the new observations impose.
