About 5 years ago I started my Ph.D. here in Munich. Soon we discovered a potential alpha’ˆ2-correction to the Kählerpotential in four dimensions whose faith has been under investigation ever since. I will review the novel insights to the staring point to this quest namely higher derivatives in 10d/11d, and will draw resulting conclusions to the correction to the Kählerpotential in 3d/4d. Shall this be the end of the story? Come and see for yourself!
Furthermore, I will discuss other potential alpha’-corrections to the scalar potential in 3d.
