Description
After the discovery of the Higgs boson in 2012, particle physicists are eagerly awaiting the discovery of clear signals of “new physics”, which lies beyond our current theory of fundamental interactions. Surprisingly, existing hints for departures from the Standard Model point in directions which were so far unexplored theoretically, and which do not appear to fit our prejudices for what should lie beyond the Standard Model. I will discuss the status of some of these hints — related to current anomalies in the flavor sector — and stress the need to search for new physics on all fronts.
