Description
Fluid/gravity correspondence relates relativistic fluids with asymptotically anti-de Sitter spacetimes. Although relativistic fluid dynamics is expected to be hydrodynamic-frame invariant, this freedom appears to break down in the dual gravitational picture. This property is exhibited in three dimensions by computing the conserved charges of two families of locally anti-de Sitter spacetimes obtained as gravitational duals of the same two-dimensional fluid analyzed in two distinct hydrodynamic frames: (i) as a fluid with heat current, or (ii) as a perfect fluid. The charges turn out to obey different algebras and show that the complete Bañados family requires the use of the dissipative picture.
