Description
The low energy theory of graphene, a two-dimensional carbon material is known to be described by a massless Dirac fermion. I analyse deformations and defects of the hexagonal lattice of graphene and show that in the low energy limit they lead to the effective coupling of the Dirac fermion to Yukawa and gauge fields.
