
Prof. Dr. JohJohannes Zeiher
Johannes Zeiher is Professor for Synthetic Quantum Matter at the Ludwig Maximilians University of Munich and Group Leader at the Max Planck Institute of Quantum Optics. He works on quantum computing and quantum simulation with ultracold atoms.
After earning his PhD in Physics from LMU Munich, Zeiher gained international research experience, including as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of California, Berkeley. Since 2020, he has led his own research group at the Max Planck Institute of Quantum Optics, and since 2025, he joined LMU as a Professor.
Besides his academic work, in 2022, Johannes co-founded planqc, the company developing Germany’s first quantum computer based on neutral atoms.
