DESCRIPTION:Speakers: Alexander Penin (University of Alberta\, Edmonton)\n
\nI present a new class of evolution equations which govern the high-energ
y behavior of power-suppressed scattering amplitudes. The equations can be
viewed as a renormalization group flow with respect to the relevant effec
tive field theory cutoff. A distinct feature of the method is in the use o
f a multidimensional cutoff to separate the relevant scales in problems ch
aracterized by a complex factorization structure. By adjusting the renorma
lization group variables to the geometry of the effective theory modes\, t
he method naturally extends to a broad spectrum of physical problems inclu
ding massive\, massless\, small\, and wide angle scattering. I show how th
e method applies to the electron-positron forward annihilation and light q
 uark mediated Higgs boson production.\n\nhttps://indico.mpp.mpg.de/event/1
