Description
The chiral magnetic effect (CME) is a widely discussed effect in quark-gluon plasmas, proposed to explain the observed charge asymmetry in heavy-ion collisions. The CME states that, in the presence of a magnetic field B, an electric current is induced in the plasma along B. In this talk I present a holographic description of the CME in terms of a fluid/gravity model. The model will be used to compute some CME-related first-order transport coefficients in the electromagnetic current. Agreement with hydrodynamics is found.
