DESCRIPTION:String theory gives a completely explicit formula for quantum
gravitational scattering amplitudes\, at least in idealized settings. Actu
ally computing the relevant integrals is a formidable challenge. I will ex
plain a concrete method that achieves this at one loop using an idea from
number theory. The result is a practical formula that can readily be imple
mented. I will show what these amplitudes look like\, how they differ from
QFT\, and what they tell us about the UV structure of string theory.\n\nh
