Description
Efficiency Skills for Scientists: Get the same done in less time
Scientists do their research usually not for the money. It is about being passionately curious and the drive to explore. This drive can often be sabotaged by the clutter of daily work life, doing paperwork, waiting for equipment/permission/time slots/other people or getting assignments not related to your project.
Back to the essentials
The topics covered by this workshop are:
Prioritizing (Pareto and Eisenhower)
Automating of processes
Synergy in your group
Delegating
Upward leadership (how to lead your boss)
Group culture and dynamic
Skillful elimination of tasks
Network building
Stakeholder analysis
In this workshop I assume, that you in principle like what you are doing. So the question becomes how to do mostly that and reduce the rest. I am also aiming for sustainable solutions, so “quick wins” that get you what you want, but have people not talking to you any more are also off the table.
From the real life for the real life. Not all the tools fit all personal situations, but with multiple tools the chances are good, that one of them will work for you. Of course, situations only change if the topics covered in this training are applied in real life. Therefore throughout the training you will be asked to work on your situation and identify possibilities for action.
