Description

The MPP Career Day is meant to bring together young researchers, interested in transitioning from academia to e.g. industry, finance or consulting, and companies looking for doctoral researchers well-versed in working methodically and solving multi-layered problems.

The event will take place on Friday, 5th April 2019 at the Max Planck Institute for Physics, Munich (MPP) organised by the MPP's PhD representatives. The companies put up stands in the seminar room presensting themselves with e.g. posters, broschures or recruting contacts. During the entire day participants are encouraged to pass by their stand and getting in first contact with the companies. To give a first impression, the speaker of each company gives a concise 3-minute presentation about the company. Later the speakers have another 20 minutes to present their current job, talk about their personal experience getting ino this position as well as showing up the possible career paths in their company. Most of the speakers have a scientific background similar to or even in physics. In total, 12 enterprises covering a wide field of applications are participating.

We thank Basycon, Bosch, Gruenecker, Jambit, Thorlabs, Toptica and Zielpuls for their generous sponsoring.

We are looking forward to see you at the Career Day.
