Description
High Energy Physics is at an interesting point in time. Choices made for the energy frontier this decade may set the course for the field for the remainder of this century. I will give some personal perspectives on the energy frontier, with basis on my research on both linear colliders and plasma wakefield acceleration. After a discussion of CLIC, its two-beam acceleration scheme, and plasma wakefield acceleration experiments at both FACET at AWAKE, I will summarize how I see the status of the readiness of plasmas as a possible technology for colliders. I will end with a brief discussing of a gamma-gamma collider as a possible fast track towards multi-TeV collisions.
