Description
Production of electroweak gauge bosons has proven to be an important process in high energy physics. From calibrating detector performance and extracting parton distribution functions, to beyond the Standard Model searches, it will be an integral part of LHC physics. This talk will focus on theoretical aspects of Z production during the early running of the LHC at 7 TeV using the numerical code FEWZ. FEWZ simulates the fully differential cross section through NNLO in QCD, and allows the interplay of experimental cuts and higher-order QCD effects to be studied. Phenomenological results will be presented, and new features of the program will be discussed.
