Description
Generalized geometry extends the tangent bundle in Riemannian geometry to considering a direct sum of tangent and cotangent bundles. There is a structure called Courant algebroid, from where a Courant membrane sigma-model can be subsequently constructed. On the other hand, double field theory (DFT) is a duality covariant formulation of supergravity in a doubled space which shares the same symmetry as Courant algebroid. In this talk, we will fill the gap between a Courant algebroid and DFT, and therefore proposing a geometric structure for DFT. We then present a membrane sigma-model corresponding to DFT that captures the geometric and non-geometric fluxes which are related by T-duality.
