Description

The experiment ALPS II at DESY in Hamburg is searching for axions and similar particles by trying to shine light through a light-tight wall. It will be the first experiment going beyond indirect search limits of astrophysics in a purely laboratory-based approach. Its initial science run has finished in May 2024, data are analyzed and the experiment is prepared for the next jumps in sensitivity.
