Supersymmetry in 2012 and Beyond

The LHC experiments are currently conducting their first critical searches for physics beyond the Standard Model. I will briefly review the motivation of such scenarios and their main features. Search strategies at ATLAS and CMS as targeted at those defining properties of ultraviolet completions of the Standard Model. One of the theoretically most interesting but experimentally most challenging analyses is the search partners of the Standard Model top quark. For this case I will discuss new analysis methods dubbed `top tagging'.
