The Elusive Higgs Boson

I discuss the status of searches for the Higgs boson and why a highly motivated scenario is one in which it is lighter than the Standard Model LEP limit of 114 GeV, escaping said limit by virtue of dominant decays to unexpected channels. Impacts on LHC searches for the Higgs boson will be summarized.
