Geplante Anreise: Donnerstag, 14. Mai 2020
Geplante Rückkunft: Samstag, 16. Mai 2020
Planned departure: Thursday, May 14, 2020
Planned return: Saturday, May 16, 2020
MPP employees can choose to take May 14 off instead of joining the institute outing, thus requiring only one vacation day for the CERN trip. The second day (May 15) must be taken as a holiday.
Friends & relations are welcome to join if places are available.
On May 15 from 10:00 to 13:00 up to 36 participants have the opportunity to visit the ATLAS cavern, provided they do not belong to one of the following risk groups:
Places are reserved for all participants at 13:15 in the CERN restaurant (self-pay). Further activities are planned and will be announced as soon as details are fixed.
We have reserved 12 single and 12 double rooms (36 beds) in the CERN hostel. Room rates per night are:
Single room: 58 CHF (approx. 54 EUR),
Participants who cannot stay at the CERN hostel will be located at a nearby hotel. As of January 2020, rooms start from 120 EUR, for up to 3 persons per room.
The relatively cheap hostel rooms are earmarked for MPP employees. IMPRS students with an institutional travel reimbursement will be considered for the hostel only if beds remain empty otherwise.
There are no extra costs for the bus trip.
For registration please use the Registration Form below.
There is an early registration phase until February 9, 2020, after which the assignment of the CERN hostel rooms will be made.
Participants who receive a CERN hostel room have to pay the hostel costs in advance, as the institute will receive a combined bill. Payment details will be communicated in due time.
We will contact the other participants to try to find a common hotel (at an acceptable rate), to make the bus transfer simple.
Later applications will be considered as long as there are seats left on the bus. CERN hostel rooms will likely have been fully assigned by then, however.
In case of questions please contact Anja Schielke (Room 220) or the Works Council Office (Room 124).
