Description
With the discovery of the Higgs boson at 125 GeV, it appeared very quickly that a circular e+e- machine could provide high luminosity collisions at the ZH production threshold where the properties of the Higgs Boson can be studied with unique precision. Such a machine is also a superb Z, W and top factory, to search for new physics in precision measurements and rare decays. CERN is presently undertaking an integral design study for post-LHC particle accelerator options. The Future Circular Collider (FCC) study has an emphasis on a hadron collider and an electron-positron collider (the FCC-ee) that would fit in a 100km long circular tunnel.
