Solvable Quantum Gravity

I will discuss several models of quantum gravity, both involving top-down constructions in string theory and bottom-up constructions from semiclassical gravity. These models are at least partially solvable and studying them reveals a lot of the inner workings of quantum gravity. I will review recent advanced in harnessing such theories to derive (as opposed to conjecture) holographic descriptions of many of these theories and extract general lessons about quantum gravity.
