The inaugural ceremony of the LST sub-Array will take place at the CTAO-North site at the Observatorio del Roque de los Muchachos (ORM) on La Palma, Canary Islands, on Thursday, October 15, 2026.
This event marks a significant milestone in establishing the Cherenkov Telescope Array Observatory (CTAO) and celebrates the completion of the LST sub-array, which includes four 23-meter telescopes built through an international effort involving more than 500 scientists and engineers from over ten countries. These 23-meter-diameter telescopes play a key role in the observatory’s scientific mission, enabling groundbreaking observations of the Deep, Dark, and Extreme Universe in high-energy gamma rays.
