The 10th PhDnet meeting will focus on the topic Work-Life Balance in Science?! and will be hosted by the Forschungszentrum Caesar in Bonn from October 26th - 28th 2011. We want to give you a forum for fruitful discussions, discovering scientific overlaps, to inform you about the achievements of the year and then send you back home with the same enthusiasm that's driving us. About this meeting The annual General Meeting is meant to exchange experiences, scientific and non-scientific, to learn about the situation of PhD students at other institutes and to discuss and agree on necessary changes. This year's agenda includes a moderated plenary discussion with representatives of institutes and societies that influence our work and working conditions as Max-Planck PhD students. This discussion is thought of as a platform to discuss positive developments and shortcomings and to develop a guideline for a healthy Work-Life balance, good working conditions and job prospects for PhD students: a Best Practice Guide. We want to discuss the draft from last year's spokesperson Daniel Kalthoff with you and work in groups on an official version. At the end we'll all return with a finalized Best Practice Guide to our institutes! About the location Caesar has been a member of the Max Planck family since 2006 and is located close to the Rhine, the Rheinauen park and the former government district, and we will make sure that you get a glimpse of all of that!
