Description
After reviewing the current status of dark matter direct detection, in this talk we investigate the reconstruction capabilities of dark matter physical parameters from the combination of a future ton-scale direct detection experiment and a neutrino telescope. Adopting realistic values for the experimental set up the degree of complementarity between the two different experiments is quantified. We investigate how the uncertainty in the astrophysical parameters controlling the local dark matter density and velocity distribution affects the reconstruction and underline that each experiment has a different dependence on these uncertainties. We show that, under favourable assumptions, the complementarity of experiments can break degeneracies in the dark matter scattering cross-sections and mass.
