Description
The first data taken with the LHCb experiment was successfully used both for calibration of the detector and for first physics analysis, such as the measurement of the $b\bar{b}$ or $J/\psi$ cross-section. Based on the first data, the projections on the physics performance in several of the LHCb key analysis have been reevaluated. Already with the data taken in 2010 we expect to make competitive contributions to analysis, which have the potential to reveal first signs of New Physics, such as the search for the rare decay $B_s \rightarrow \mu^+\mu^-$ or the measurement of CP violation in $B_s$ mixing. The talk will present first results of the LHCb experiment and give an overview on the LHCb short and long term physics potential.
