Fourth bulletin

Dear SCET2010 participant,

this is the 4th bulletin for the SCET 2010 workshop
at Ringberg Castle,  Rottach-Egern, Germany, April 6 - 9, 2010.
web page: http://wwwth.mppmu.mpg.de/scet2010/

  • The final program is now on the website. All speakers are advised to closely inspect the SPEAKING TIME and the discussion time assigned to their presentation slot.
  • We ask all participants to send their arrival and departure information to scet@mppmu.mpg.de and whether you expect to take the conference bus.
  • The bus to Ringberg Castle will leave on April 6 from Munich central train station at the Bus terminal in the Arnulfstrasse at 5:00pm. Have a look at the map attached to this mail.
  • CONFERENCE FEE: 100 Eur. PhD students are exempt.
  • About a 2/3 of the participants are accommodated on the castle and the other 1/3 at a Hotel zur Post in the village of Kreuth. You can find out where you will stay in the participant list on the workshop website.

         Hotel  zur Post
         Nördliche Hauptstraße 5-7
         83708 Kreuth
         phone: 08029 9955-0

There will be a daily taxi shuttle transfer to and from the hotel for the duration of the workshop at 8:30am and around 9:00pm, respectively. At the hotel there is free wireless connection in the lobby.
  • Spouses have to pay for their accommodation costs and for food on the castle. Please contact Rosita upon arrival about your plans for having lunch and dinner on the castle during the day.
  • Speakers can make their presentation on their own laptop, but should also have their talk available on a memory stick or send it to scet@mppmu.mpg.de prior to their presentation.
  • If there is heavy snow at Ringberg Castle it could be that the main bus cannot drive up the dirt road to the castle due to new regulations. In this unlikely case only baggage could be transported uphill with a smaller vehicle and most participants would have to walk up by foot. Please prepare to have some suitable pair of shoes with you. This is also advisable if you feel like having a little hike in the castle area.
  • Each lunch and dinner on Ringberg Castle comes with one free bottle of a beverage per participant. Each additional beverage you take (at any time!) needs to be PAID BY YOU. You need to mark the  beverage you take on the beverage list and pay for them before the end of the workshop or when you check out. You also need to pay for all telephone calls you do from your rooms.
  • Please expect one more message with last-minute information sent to about 2 days before the workshop. Also check out the button "Last Minute Information" on the SCET2010 website.
  • Emergency phone numbers:
    •    Andre:       +49-176-63276871  (in Germany: 0-176-63276871)
    •    Thorsten: +49-177-4674426    (in Germany: 0-177-4674426)
    •    Castle:      +49-8022-2790        (in Germany: 0-8022-2790)
