First bulletin

Dear Colleagues,

We would like to invite you to the SCET 2010 workshop, which
will be held at

Ringberg Castle
Rottach-Egern, Germany,
April 6 - 9, 2010.

The workshop webpage is

http://wwwth.mppmu.mpg.de/members/scet2010/

The workshop is intended to be fairly specialized, aiming at
people with some familiarity with SCET. It is planned to have
a limited number of invited talks with lots of time for
discussion and interactions among the participants.
As in previous years a wide range of topics within SCET shall
be covered including conceptual issues and established as well
as novel applications in QCD or other sectors of the Standard
Model.

Ringberg Castle (http://www.schloss-ringberg.de/) is a conference
site of the Max-Planck Society located close to Tegernsee,
Bavaria, and provides a unique workshop atmosphere through its
special remote location, ancient architecture and good food.
Apart from the workshop sessions Ringberg Castle provides many
opportunities for chatting, get-togethers and smaller discussion
sessions in separated rooms of which there are plenty in the
castle.

We very much hope you will be able to participate.

The workshop registration is now open. The registration form
can be found on the worhshop webpage,

http://indico.mppmu.mpg.de/indico/confRegistrationFormDisplay.py/display?confId=632

Due to space restrictions on Ringberg Castle the registration is
limited to 60 participants.

The following information might be useful for your planning:

  • Your arrival in Munich should be by the afternoon of April 6
(Tuesday after the Easter weekend), the day before the
workshop begins. There will be a conference bus leaving
on the 6th from the main station in Munich at around 5pm.
  • The scientific program will start in the morning of April 7
and finish on April 9 in the early afternoon. Again, a
conference bus will bring you back to Munich. Its departure
time will be at approximately 4pm.
  • There will be a conference fee of around 100 Euros that will
cover food and accomodation on Ringberg Castle or in a Hotel in
Rottach-Egern. We plan to waive the conference fee for
     students.
  • There will be a Bavarian Buffet dinner taking place on
     Thursday evening.

Please feel free to forward this email to other people who may
be interested in this workshop.

We hope to see you at SCET 2010!

Best regards,

Andre Hoang, Thorsten Feldmann and Vicent Mateu.
