IN THE FOOTSTEPS OF THE CUMBRE VIEJA VOLCANO
The 19th of September 2021 marked a before and after on the island of La Palma. The Plaza de Tajuya became an improvised and privileged vantage point of the volcanic eruption of Cumbre Vieja. From this famous and well-known place, we can see how the physiognomy of the landscape has changed after 84 days of intense activity.
Next, we will visit an area as close as possible to the lava and later the port of Tazacorte, a fishing enclave from where you can see the new lava strips that have formed on the coast.
A tour to the Llano del Jable, accompanied by guides qualified for this activity, takes us on the new path specially created to get close to the cone of the Cumbre Vieja volcano.
With a gentle hiking route of about 2.5 hours duration, we will see various control and measuring instruments with which the process is still studied today, we will be amazed to see how the Canarian pine once again wins the fight against disasters and how the Aridane Valley through this phenomenon of nature has changed.
Get to know with respect this unique place, born from the interior of our island: the volcano Cumbre Vieja.
