31 Quantum Technologies – from the physics lab towards real world applications

Quantum Technologies are an interdisciplinary field, focusing on the utilization of quantum properties of matter. Quantum Technologies of the second generation allow new applications in metrology, communications, sensing and computing. The DLR Institute of Quantum Technologies in Ulm develops precision instruments for space applications based on Quantum Technologies and brings them to prototype maturity in close cooperation with industry. An overview over the recent activities of the DLR Institute of Quantum Technologies will be presented.
